About Information support for student development bureau of small spacecraft

In 2010, Southwestern State University (YUZGU) was licensed to carry out space activities. Created a development center of small satellites. The main function of which is the organization of continuous training programs for students of modern technology design and management of small satellites. Assembled a group of 10 active students, and work began on a small spacecraft (MCA). The working name of the satellite "Radioskaf-3».

Initially, one of the problems of the educational project has been poor information support. Thus, even within the university knew about it, many do not. After the first few months of operation revealed another problem associated with the complexity of the organization of communication groups of students participating in the project. Originally a weekly face to face meeting of stakeholders of the round table. However, the punctuality of the student group, as well as part-time employment in other works, sometimes led to their breakdown. Moreover, with the full attendance began heated debate and controversy over the concepts, methods, and so there are a number of highly specialized issues. There was a problem of lack of communication with competent specialists space industry, to gain access to a number of "space" state standards.

To solve the above problems, it was decided to create an information website that allows you to routinely communicate in a convenient, modern generation, the form of virtual communication. Lay out their achievements and to resolve disputed issues. The site was created: «http://radioskaf.ru - Development of amateur satellites," [1]. He presented historical information about the satellites' Radioskaf "project news, articles, library, contact information and a forum. When creating a site uses the following technologies: html + css, cms for php with database system mysql, public forum script «Simple Machines Forum».

Site, however, did not abolish the full-time appointments, just their number decreased by half.

key section is a forum. Form of communication was selected by voting members of the project. Interface of the forum is shown in Figure 1. Here, each subsystem has its own satellite section. Only ten sections:

  1. Concept - General Provisions for all. TK. Interfaces. Instruction formats, etc.
  2. -factor - supporting structure of the satellite. Materials. Options for placement of blocks
  3. Positioning - Positioning the satellite in space. Ideas. Implementation.
  4. Determining the origin
  5. - Block determining the current coordinates of the satellite.
  6. Experiments - Ideas experiments in orbit. Concept, a device implementation.
  7. photographic unit - The unit provides photography from orbit. Formation of SSTV pictures. Storing images in memory.
  8. receiver - receiver unit commands from Earth. Circuit design, implementation, construction.
  9. Transmitter - The transmitter block the satellite. Options for the design on different frequencies.
  10. energy system - solar panels, regulators, voltage converters.
  11. central control unit - the heart of the satellite. The control device peripherals and subsystems satellite.

Each participant is responsible for a subsystem that has a personal section and it is the moderator. The project manager has a branch devoted to organizational matters and is a global moderator of the forum.

Figure 2 shows a graph of your visit. Surge in activity is due February 13 placing information on the project to visit the popular scientific resources, as well as the publication schedule of test broadcasting satellite ARISSat-1. Total from October 2010 to March 2011: 3288 visitors, 22,763 page views. Demographics: Men aged 18-34 years, 78% women aged 18-34 years 6% of the visitors.

Similar sites have many student design bureau. Since the project has ARISSat 1, in which YUZGU involved [3], in addition to the news website [2], uses a system of SVN documentation [4,5]. In our case, the need for such a system has not yet appeared. However, in the future when development goes into the stage of writing software, this system helps to organize and document the source code for all versions. You should also pay attention to the importance of good planning [6] and a systematic approach due to the nature of space technology development.

Thanks site, learn about the project began, there were new members registering on the forum, including the development of similar amateur satellites. Began a discussion of ideas, options for building the satellite. However, the site, unfortunately, does not eliminate the problem of having the time of the participants.
